Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the US as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She currently works for ESPN as a anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. She began her career at ESPN in 2016. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta is bilingual since age nine. Her skill was instrumental in securing her first position as production assistant for Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. The next position she was offered was reporter for sports at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, the reporter moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley, Texas in which she was a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. She would also fill in occasionally as a weather and sports anchor. Then she became anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her greater responsibilities. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. In addition, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted as anchor of the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also served as an anchor on sports in Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in Veracruz, Mexico. They eventually moved in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. She has a sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced soon after and, in 1995, she married an naval designer by the name of Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sibling in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. Antonietta who was in high school with an idea of what she would like her life to be like, visited Mount Union University to see whether the university was suitable for her. The result was that she enjoyed the university as well as the fact that it offered the major she wanted. After high school, she graduated and enrolled into media school at the college. Mark Bergmann, her professor who also managed the WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for a number of years, was an acquaintance. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her by his passion for journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
